Cowboy Mouth is playing Kelly Ripa's song

Cowboy Mouth will perform its musical tribute to daytime-TV hostess Kelly Ripa on Thursday's episode of "Live with Regis and Kelly."

The New Orleans combo debuted a snippet of "Kelly Ripa" during the show's May visit to New Orleans.

Sample lyric:
"Kelly Ripa! Kelly Ripa!
"A mommy with the body of a strippah!"

At the time, Ripa said, "That's the most exciting thing that ever happened to me."

According to a news release from the show, the band has just finished recording its latest studio album, which includes the tune.

According to the "Live" release, the song was born because band members are regular viewers of the show, via satellite dish atop their tour bus.

Singer/drummer/shaman Fred LeBlanc saw Ripa one morning, "and he swears the song came to him almost fully formed," says the release.

CNN anchor Anderson Cooper is scheduled to cohost with Ripa. Other scheduled guests include actresses Charlize Theron and Cheryl Hines.

"Kelly Ripa" by Cowboy Mouth is now available in its entirety at itunes for a whopping 0.99 cents! I saw Cowboy Mouth do it in concert the Friday after they were on R & K and it was a blast. They really DO love Kelly Ripa!!
